A site that tells a surfer whether there will be waves today.
Normally that means opening several weather sites and adding them up in your head. Here it sits on one page: the wave height, the wind, the tide and live cameras for every beach. The forecast is gathered from several services at once, so one of them being wrong does not send you to a flat sea. Phuket came first and more spots keep being added.

Control without a mouse: your hand in front of the camera, and your voice.
A prototype testing an engine that simulates water and pigment in real time together with motion capture through an ordinary camera. The task was picked so that any mistake shows immediately: ink spreading through water makes the smallest delay visible. The gesture control carries over into other projects.

An app that gathers a whole clan in one place.
People find their relatives, see how many belong to each clan, and hear about gatherings. Signing up takes a minute. The app is out on the App Store and Google Play.

A workout timer you never have to look at.
Set how long to work, how long to rest and how many rounds, hit start and put the phone away. Three seconds before every switch it counts down out loud, and you hear it over your music and with the screen off. Ready-made modes like tabata are built in, and you can put together your own.

How good is your eye? Five tasks a day.
Stop a timer at five seconds without looking, cut a line in half, set an angle, find the centre of a circle, guess how many dots there are. No ruler allowed. Everyone gets the same set and it changes daily, so scores are worth comparing with friends.
