Working this out normally means opening a few weather sites and adding them up in your head. Here it is already done: for every beach you see the wave height, the wind, the tide and live cameras. The forecast is pulled from several weather services, so one of them being wrong does not send you to a flat sea. Phuket came first and more spots keep being added.

A prototype that tested two things at once: an engine that simulates water and pigment in real time, and motion capture through an ordinary laptop camera. The task was picked so that any mistake shows immediately: ink spreading through water makes the smallest delay visible. The gesture control carries over into other projects.
